Wright Corrects Krauthammer's Panel Commentary
On Fox News Special Report last night, on the All Star Panel with Fred Barnes, Mara Liasson and Charles Krauthammer -- it was big liberal Mara Liasson of National Public Radio which HAD BETTER ADVICE for the Republican party than either Fred Barnes or -- sadly -- Charles Krauthammer -- two gentlemen quickly joining Rush's club of our "wizards of smart" who helped design the McCain and other GOP defeats. THIS EXCHANGE IS STUNNING -- especially Krauthammer, how outlines EXACTLY HOW THE DEMOCRATS TREATED BUSH -- HOW IT LED THEM TO CONGRESSIONAL VICTORIES EVERY YEAR ACCEPT 2002 --thanks to the Paul Wellstone Memorial -- AND THEN SAID THAT'S WHAT REPUBLICANS MUST NOT DO NOW....Krauthammer says we need to try the new tone HARDER.

LIASSON: Guess what -- Barack Obama ran as a tax cutter -- he attacked John McCain's health care plan for raising taxes -- it might not have been a true attack but the fact is that it was delivered from Republican turf -- I just think that over time the Republican party --which used to be the party of big ideas -- has to come up with some new ones.---or perhaps Mara, we could come up with some OLD IDEAS again, like the Reagan doctrine of strong national defense, lower taxes and smaller government -- since Rasmussen's polls show that does in fact still work -- but give her credit, she at least understands that Obama won by pretending to be conservative and a tax cutter. Now Krauthammer -- this---is very disturbing from a great man.
KRAUTHAMMER: Look, due to the size of the mandate Obama has -- what he has in congress -- and his sort of historic importance -- no one is going to remember the substance of what Republicans do over the next year or two but THEY WILL REMEMBER THE TONE --and that's gonna be the most important -- they should be respectful -- and they should have a sense that "he is our President" ((Brit Hume interjects AND MEAN IT)) unlike the Democrats, who eight years ago, never accepted bush as legitimate, looked at him and called him a usurper -- remember the bumper stickers -- redefeat Bush -- and then after a brief interlude after 9-11 and the success in Afghanistan turned on him in a way that is really unbelievably viscous --and de-legitimized him. I think that is something that Republicans have to stay away and understand the historic importance of Obama.--uh Charles, I hate to break it to you, but the Democrats have had success after success with JUST THAT BEHAVIOUR YOU OUTLINED. Meanwhile, our nice new tone, our "showing respect" and "reaching across the aisle" and so on has done nothing but kept us on the losing side of these elections. The only thing that saved us was the Paul Wellstone Memorial in 2002 and John Kerry's incompetence in 2004.
